Away from the day job, I collect children’s picture books, and have always wanted to experiment with creating my own stories, particularly those featuring children and stories from underrepresented cultures and places. Motivated by the statistics that UK children’s books have poor representation of children of colour , I participated in a program with Pop Up, a UK charity committed to children’s literacy, and supporting diverse talent in publishing.
